Notice of Price increase

Dear friends, this is another one of those difficult posts…

I have spent some time working through the books for this year. It is very clear that the rising costs of sourcing good beef cattle to butcher and sell as well as costs of rising interest rates has gone up to the point where we are way behind break even. My first reaction to this was Saturday night where I was at the pint of simply just quitting. But after some prayer, reflection and long conversations with my wife, I have decided to reach out to you for your input.

To get back to being in a position where we can make a profit, I’ll need to raise the prices by $3/lb for all the regular cuts/sausage we offer.

I would really appreciate feedback from you all. Private message is fine or reply to this message…just let me know if you are ok with that or if this means you’ll shop elsewhere! I know we are all facing financial challenges of some kind so I fully understand if you’ll take your business elsewhere.

Just for comparison, I checked the local save on foods website this morning.

Rib steak regular price was nearly $30/lb. Ours is going to be $24

Stew meat was about $12/lb and ours will be going to $12.50.

Extra lean ground beef was $8/lb and ours will be going to $11.50.

That’s not really comparing apples to apples as they say, as the meat we are selling is going to be healthier…

Once again, please feel free to price compare. Please send feedback…I would really like to know your opinions.

Brian
