Canadian Grass Fed Beef

Our Beef

is grass fed only, not grain finished. We love farming as naturally as possible, and we want our animals to be happy and healthy. All the animals on our farm have free access to pasture and live most of their lives out in the fresh air.

Due to drought conditions we have not had sufficient forage for the cattle on the ranch. With the young stock not having access to good forage, they are not growing like they should. We have made the decision to sell the young stock and keep our main cow herd. We will be working on several regenerative plans to get the land more productive with less chemical or other unnatural inputs over the next couple years. The Lord willing we hope to be back in a couple years. In the meantime, please check our friends at tattonsprings.com for all your beef and pork needs

Quality Meat, Tasty Meals

Grass fed beef takes longer to grow than conventionally raised beef, but we believe it is better for the animals, better for the environment, and better for the consumer.

Quality Meat, Tasty Meals

This message is not one that I want to be sending to you all, but the time has come to announce that we will not be selling beef after2026. The reason we have had to come to this decision is related to several factors. We have been experiencing year after year of drought conditions in our area, which has led to poor quality grazing for the cattle. The last 2 years calves have not developed to where we are happy with the quality of meat that we are able to sell. Additionally to the drought conditions, we have now experienced our second year of catastrophic level grass hopper infestation. They are eating the grass faster than the grass can grow. We have spent thousands of dollars on fertilizers and insecticide to try get something to grow, but to no avail. I plan to take the next year or two to focus on several regenerative systems to get the grass to grow better, as well as combat the grass hoppers. This will require time and resources that will prevent us from making regular trips to sell beef even if we were able to get it to grow. Due to the shortage of grazing, we will be selling some of our cattle and will also need to rebuild once we have better grass conditions. . I have contacts in the beef world who will be able and happy to supply your beef once we are finished. If we can turn things around here, I hope to be back with more beef sometime in 2029.
